Hailing from Wisconsin, Brett became an AmeriCorps member and through the Rural Alliance for Dignity, served as a Crisis Prevention Resource Case Manager in the San Luis Valley. Upon completion of his AmeriCorps commitment, Brett joined the staff of La Puente, an impactful, community-based nonprofit, where he served as an Employment Readiness Specialist. Rising quickly through the ranks, Brett became La Puente’s Director of Street Outreach, where he managed budgets and grant funding; developed and implemented program policies and procedures; recruited, interviewed, hired, trained and supervised new employees; and served as a liaison between city government and unhoused individuals during the uniquely challenging, often contentious, Covid-19 pandemic. More recently, Brett has honed his skills writing and managing grants for Colorado Autism Consultants while also collaborating in the development and implementation of their new grant management system. Although new to CASA programming, Brett has consistently been committed to bettering the circumstances of and outcomes for the most vulnerable members of our community which is congruent with the core values of CASA.
