An Evening of Inspiration: "Rebecoming Me" Screening

Alicia Economos has hit the ground running in her new role as Executive Director of Colorado CASA, immersing herself in the child welfare community.

Recently, she joined Karen Silverman, Executive Director of Denver CASA, and Amy Pitlik, COCASA Lobbyist with Mendez, Barkis and Associates, at a special event hosted by Laura Love, a longtime Denver CASA volunteer and founder of GroundFloor Media

The event featured a special screening of "Rebecoming Me", a impactful documentary that highlights the journeys of five adults who navigated the foster care system as children in Colorado. A dynamic panel discussion featuring Adams County Commissioner Chaz Tedesco, CO State Representative HD8 Lindsay Gilchrist and Nyomi Davis, former foster youth and advocate, followed the screening. The discussion was emotional, inspiring and could have easily lasted all night!

Kudos to our partner, GroundFloor Media for elevating this issue and bringing together key stakeholders to explore the pressing challenges faced by children in foster care and, more importantly, discuss innovative solutions and support we can champion as leaders heading into 2025.
