Letter From the Director: Grace + Gratitude

I am honored to join the Colorado CASA statewide office and excited to hit the road in December and January to see our local programs in action, transforming the lives of more than 3,500 children and youth. We exist because of the hard work that our teams and nearly 2,000 volunteers do so that every child has a trusted adult and advocate in their life helping them find their own voice.

I am grateful to work alongside our talented executive directors, be at the state Capitol during the upcoming legislative session and create long lasting partnerships with community organizations and donors who believe in our vision that every child in Colorado should have a voice and a hopeful future. I extend grace and gratitude to our state team, our interim executive director Kristen Blessman and our Board of Directors, chaired by Megan Kilpatrick, who led our organization through a major transition.

We can’t do this work without you, and children in our welfare system need your help. I urge you to show your support by making an investment in our future now or inspiring someone you know to become a CASA volunteer.

I look forward to working with you, and thank you for your support.

With gratitude,

Alicia Economos

Holiday Giving: Making a Difference, One Gift at a Time

Advocates for Children Thanksgiving Baskets

Thanks to the generosity of several community partners, Advocates for Children CASA will be distributing over 100 Thanksgiving baskets to their kids, youth and families over these coming weeks. Each basket includes all of the non-perishable items families need to enjoy a holiday meal together. The baskets also come with a gift card for families to purchase a turkey, ham, or anything else they would like to complete their meal! A special thank you to Parker Performing Arts, Heritage Heights, and Southeast Christian Church for providing these baskets.

CASA of Jefferson & Gilpin Counties Holiday Wishes Program

Every year, CASA of Jefferson & Gilpin Counties partners with the Children, Youth, Families and Adult Protection Program through the Jefferson County Department of Human Services, to match community donors with families in need. The holidays can be especially tough on abused and neglected children. Help provide holiday cheer to children who need it most. Donated gifts/gift cards will be delivered to the family by the caseworker or CASA volunteer.

CASA of Jefferson & Gilpin Counties is excited to kick off the 2024 Holiday Wishes program and hope you will be a part of it with them! Click here for more information.

Denver CASA Holiday Shop

Every year, Denver CASA hosts a “Holiday Shop” where CASAs and caregivers have the opportunity to pick out gifts, winter coats, hygiene items and more for their youth at no cost. This event helps relieve the financial burden families face at this time of year, and it ensures that all of the youth that Denver CASA serves have a magical holiday season.

To help support the holiday wishes of the children and youth Denver CASA serves, make an order on Denver CASA's Amazon wishlist to find out how your organization or community can make an impact.
